Kelsey & Alan {My cousin got married!! Moscow, ID Wedding Photography}

This wedding holds a special place in my heart, because it is my cousin Kelsey's, and she chose a really wonderful guy, Alan, who is now my cousin as well!! Myers' throw the best parties, and I'm always excited when a big event happens in the family, because we really do have a wonderful time together- a lot of my family lives outside of the area so getting a chance to see everyone all at once is a real treat.
Kelsey is my baby cousin, I have fond memories of the cousin-gang getting together for family reunions, and we would always do Kelseys crazy fro-hair into some fun hair-do, or see how big we could make her hair get. As she got older, Kelsey got into fashion and was attending fashion design school- she made a complete hard turn into changing her passion to farming/food/sustainable practices and she and Alan now run a fantastic farm in Northern Idaho without the help of chemicals. If you ever have the chance to stop at the Couer de Alene farmer's market or the Sandpoint farmer's market, be sure and sample some of their fantastic produce. Her brother, Carson, lives on the farm with them with his lovely wife, Tianna, and they have a kombucha business they have started up this year- as someone who brews her own kombucha and drinks it daily, I have to say, they have really fine tuned it down to a fantastic flavor.
This wedding took place at Kelsey's parents house, and it is sooo beautiful there. Makes me wish I could get married again, it really is the perfect place for events. So much pretty to look at, and the food was made by the family (and a lot grown by Kelsey and Alan) and was absolutely fantastic.
They were married at sunset with just parents and siblings, and then the afternoon was the big party and a community ceremony- where they had all the guests stand in a big circle and had some meaningful moments there.
You'll see in the pics that her dress appears darker at the bottom- she actually made the dress herself and then dip-dyed it. I love the close-ups of their hands, because you can see, they work so hard they really can't get all the dirt out of their skin. Truly hard-working, salt-of-the-earth people. I imagine pioneer's hands looked like that back in the day.
I had the pleasure of being a "guestographer"- meaning I got to enjoy the day after we shot portraits, and just shot some pics of the event and such- but didn't have to be ON the whole time- which was really enjoyable.
Thank you to Kelsey and Alan for getting married so we had an excuse for such a fun party, and thanks to all the family and friends involved, it really was a labor of love put on by many. Hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from the big day:

Braden J. {Asotin, WA Senior Photography}

I have to say, this session is the first time we had to scale a fence (and get all my lighting equipment over it) in order to get the pictures we wanted! But I had a lot of fun hanging out with Braden and his mom, Amy, last night, and I really like how his pictures turned out. He had a lot of ideas for what he wanted to incorporate, which made it fun for me as it was so personalized. Here are my favorites from his session:

Jed & Rebecca {Walla Walla, WA Wedding Photography}

    I've known Jed for years, and when he moved to Walla Walla and ended up meeting and falling in love with Rebecca, I was so happy for him. But now that I've got to spend a whole day with Rebecca, I have to say, I'm over moon for the both of them. From what I can see, to know Rebecca is to love her. What an incredible girl, Jed! And I already know that Jed is an amazing guy, so I'm super excited to see the future you two have together and (someday) the incredible kids I know you'll raise.
    So a little story on yesterday's wedding- right in the middle of portraits, a couple hours before the ceremony, we received word that there was a large fire near to us and the fire marshall had blocked off the main road to get to the church (it's off of a highway, in a middle of a bunch of fields- the sky turned pretty hazy with all the smoke). We also heard they were talking of evacuating, so Jed & Rebecca, in the middle of the craziness that a wedding day is, also got thrown the idea that their whole wedding may need to be relocated on the fly.
     Luckily, they have a really amazing church family and group of friends and family, and all hands pitched in to move their outdoor wedding and reception to inside the church (which ended up being a bit of a crunch because of the amount of attendees, but at the end of the day, it worked!) Jed & Rebecca handled it like champs and I think it was just the beginning of how we'll see them handle stress together as a couple. Hand in hand, praying and asking God for peace, and then getting to it.
Love these guys.
     Hope you enjoy my favorites from yesterday:
